Sanguine reveals £10m Birmingham plans
Liverpool hospitality group Sanguine Hospitality has unveiled plans for a new £10m boutique hotel, restaurant and health club in Birmingham city centre. The company, which has a portfolio of ten venues across the UK, is teaming up with TV chef Marco Pierre White to open Birmingham’s first ever skyline restaurant, with 360 degree panoramic views of the city.

Bangor innovation centre nets £27.5m
The Pontio centre in Bangor will receive £27.5m from the Welsh Assembly Government to establish a centre for innovation. The funding is expected to create more than 100 jobs and safeguard hundreds more in the local economy.

The North West stands to reap financial benefits worth hundreds of millions of pounds if England’s 2018 World Cup bid is successful later today. With Manchester and Liverpool set to be host cities for the event, the tournament could generate more than £200m for the region.

JJB likely to breach financial covenants
Wigan retailer JJB Sports this morning warned that it is likely to breach its banking covenants as sales continue to remain below management expectations. The company, which completed its company voluntary arrangement in 2009, said trading conditions have been “extremely challenging” since it last updated the market early last month.

Production delays hit Coral Products
Losses have widened at Coral Products, the Haydock-based manufacturer of plastic cases, after the company was hit by delays to the production of its new eco-friendly DVD cases. The business reported a pre-tax loss of £354,000 for the six months to 31 October, compared with a loss of £193,000 in the same period last year.

GB Group launches new technology
Chester identity management provider GB Group has developed a new system that allows people to securely access local authority information. The technology has been developed in partnership with services provider Serco and computer giant Microsoft.

Morrison to leave Vision+Media
Alice Morrison has announced plans to leave her role as chief executive of North West creative and digital support organisation Vision+Media. Earlier this week the government announced plans to merge the organisation with eight other screen agencies into a single body called Creative England.

Dobbies set to Speke out loud
The large-scale £8m Dobbies Garden World set to be built in Speke is to be granted approval by Liverpool City Council next week. It will then go forward for approval at a national level.

Mason Owen appointed on Academy
Commercial property agency Mason Owen has been instructed to market industrial premises by Orbit Developments. At the entrance to Knowsley Industrial Park, 384,843 sq ft of space is now available to rent at Academy Business Park in Lees Road.
