As we approach the half-way point in 2010, Insider is delighted to announce the following events still to take place this year. Our next major event in the calendar is the Economic Forum in Rugby, where we examine what must be done to regenerate the town. After that it's the Midlands Dealmakers Awards 2010, where the corporate finance community has the chance to celebrate the excellent work done over the past 12 months. Later in the year the Insider Property Awards, a key event in the business community’s calendar, will recognise all those hardworking professionals that have been successful despite a turbulent 12 months.

Insider’s economic debate roadshow arrives in Rugby in June where an audience of local and regional business players will debate the challenges and opportunities that the town and its environs face.

Specifically, we want to look at the challenges the town will be presented with in the difficult economic climate and in light of the new political order.

Regeneration and development is key to Rugby’s prospects. The plan is that the town will be transformed into a dynamic location for business with investment of more than £2bn being spent over the next few years. How much of this is ring-fenced against public sector cutbacks?
