Royal wedding bonanza for Mask-arade

A Warwickshire mask manufacturer rejected by investors on Dragons' Den has cashed in on the royal wedding with its 'Kate and Wills' range. Ray Duffy, co-founder of Mask-arade, told Insider it expected sales of the cardboard masks to top 200,000 by Friday. Duffy said: "The response has been phenomenal. We've tripled our staff numbers and have signed a lease on an additional warehouse to help with the growth we're experiencing."

Whittles drinks to Oddbins purchase
Whittles Wine Merchants, based in Solihull, has snapped up half of the failed Oddbins chain. Whittles has rescued 37 of the retailer's stores after it went into administration last month, saving about 200 jobs.

RGF snub leaves railway station project off-track
The developer behind the development of Kenilworth Railway Station has withdrawn from the scheme. Warwickshire County Council and developer John Laing said they had "reviewed their relationship" regarding the project after failing to secure funding through the government's Regional Growth Fund (RGF).

£5.75m university scheme completed
Work has been completed on a £5.75m project to refurbish two buildings at the University of Birmingham. The refurbishment was carried out by Nottingham-based Clegg Construction.

DTZ cleans up warehouse deal
Midland Cleaning Supplies has signed a lease on a unit in Gravelly Industrial Park in Birmingham. The cleaning company has taken a unit on the 80-acre park in a deal brokered by the Birmingham office of property agent DTZ.
