BSF ruling has "set a precedent"
The six local authorities which won a High Court ruling against the government’s Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme have "set a precedent" for other councils wishing to appeal against lost funding in the future. That’s according to the leader of Sandwell Council, who spoke to Insider after it was ruled the government had acted unlawfully by scrapping the £138m project so hastily.

Wright Hassall casts net over US deal
Leamington Spa-based law firm Wright Hassall has advised on a multimillion-euro deal involving two overseas fishing tackle manufacturers. The firm acted for Germany-based Zebco Sports Europe as it was acquired by US-headquartered Zebco Brands.

2010 was boom year for sheds, says Birmingham adviser
Last year experienced a boom in the number of shed deals being completed, according to the Birmingham office of Cushman & Wakefield. In the Midlands, the commercial property company advised on warehouse transactions which totalled 8 million sq ft.

Titan forcasts positive year-end
Titan Europe, which has a UK base in Kidderminster, has said it expects to report revenue of £355m ahead of its year-end results. The result would be £7m more than current market forecasts.
