Ingram nets the top prize at Dealmakers

Insider’s South Yorkshire Dealmakers Awards last night recognised the achievements of the big beasts of the corporate jungle. A gala dinner at St Paul’s Mercure Hotel in Sheffield drew together a gathering of more than 300 business leaders to celebrate the people who had led the region in the cut-throat world of dealmaking. Compèred by journalist and TV presenter Adrienne Lawler, the event rewarded the most eye-catching deals of the year and the most impressive personalities working in the sector. It was a good night for BHP Ingram Forrest, which picked up three awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award for its partner and founder Stephen Ingram. He said: "The banks just need to relax a little bit. The culture of these organisations isn’t supportive to the lending culture. Until leaders say ‘let’s relax a bit’ we have a while to go."
