Sales grow at Booker
Wholesale giant Booker said that sales rose 6.2 per cent for the year to 25 March. Revenue hit £3.6bn at the Wellingborough-based company for the 52-week period, according to a trading update released this morning. The company also said internet sales increased by 29 per cent, accounting for £526m of total revenue.

Rolls-Royce reveals apprenticeship plans
Rolls-Royce has announced plans to create a new apprentice academy, doubling the number of trainees it employs each year. The academy, which will be constructed at the Rolls-Royce 'Learning and Career Development Centre' in Derby, will enable the company to recruit up to 200 additional apprentices annually to train for work in its supply chain.

Food and drink economy to get boost with new scheme
Local sourcing and tourism initiatives are among the recommendations to help develop Leicester and Leicestershire’s £600m food and drink economy. Ideas named in a blueprint document will now be trialled in six Everards pubs in the region.
