Nottingham outstrips rivals
Nottingham has become a key destination for business, outperforming cities including Leeds and Manchester. According to research by CB Richard Ellis, there was 5.9 per cent annual growth in jobs in the city compared with the rest of the UK at 4.7 per between 2000 to 2005. Marc Cole, chief executive of Nottingham Regeneration, which commissioned the report, said: This is a very exciting time for Nottingham as it looks forward to a decade of sustainable, physical and economic regeneration. What came out of the report is that Nottingham is an attractive option for companies wishing to locate here. What is also encouraging is that the city continues to prosper in retail, office and industrial rents as the rest of the country experiences a downturn.
