Norbert Dentressangle clinches TDG deal
Norbert Dentressangle has completed the €241m (£212m) takeover of transport and logistics company TDG. It comes after the Northampton-based logistics business won approval for the deal by European competition authorities. Norbert Dentressangle also assumed an estimated £30m of TDG's debt as a part of the deal.

East Midlands cashes in on Europe
More than £111m in European structural funding has been pumped into the East Midlands to boost innovation, productivity and enterprise since 2007, the East Midlands Development Agency (Emda) has said. A total of £229m of investment from the European Regional Development Fund into these areas in the region is planned by 2013.

Deals market showing signs of waking up - Rotton
The East Midlands deals market is "very slowly reawakening from an enforced slumber", according to Nic Rotton of Nottingham-based Strata Finance. He told Insider there has been little change in activity in the market from 2010.

Auction shifts £2.65m-worth of properties
More than £2.65m has been raised at a property auction at Nottingham Racecourse. Lots included grade-II listed West Lodge at Newstead Abbey Park which was sold by Nottingham City Council for £203,500 while a wide range of terraced properties in Nottingham attracted interest.

Jadu in Leicester HQ move
Jadu is to house its headquarters at Merus Court on the Meridian Business Park in Leicester after renting a 8,153 sq ft property at the site. Innes England acted on behalf of Wilson Bowden Developments as part of the deal.

Tramlink wins Nottingham transport contract
Tramlink Nottingham has been named as the preferred bidder for the proposed extension to Nottingham's tram network. It is to build two new tram lines to Clifton and Chilwell, and operate the extended tram network.

Topps Tiles plans expansion ahead of sales slope
Leicester-based Topps Tiles said that it expects to report a sales drop of 2.5 per cent when it reveals its next set of financial results. In a trading update to the London Stock Exchange this morning, the tile and wood flooring specialist said it hopes to add another seven stores to its UK portfolio by the end of its financial year.

Cargo record for East Midlands Airport
East Midlands Airport said it handled its highest amount of cargo in its history last year. A total of 306,977 tonnes of flown cargo was handled in 2010 - up by 19,203 tonnes on 2009.

Economy contracted less than expected
The UK’s economic growth contracted by 0.5 per cent in the last quarter of 2010. This has been revised from a fall of 0.6 per cent, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) said.
