GINEM reveals post-Emda strategy
The Growth Investment Network East Midlands (GINEM) is looking at “a combination of routes” to fund the organisation’s future once its main sponsor, the East Midlands Development Agency (Emda), ceases operations next year. Toby Reid, operations manager at GINEM, told Insider the organisation would consider a number of funding options, including introducing more charges for events and seeking private sector sponsorship.

Deals market on the up but caution remains - Nutton
The number of potential mid-market deals has increased in the East Midlands, though banks are continuing to be cautious and public sector cuts are likely to have an impact. That's according to John Nutton, the head of corporate finance practice for PKF in the region. He told Insider that vendors have become more realistic on price expectations.

PM launches StartUp Britain
David Cameron has launched StartUp Britain, a campaign which aims to help new entrepreneurs. More than 60 brands have pledged millions of pounds to support the project which is offering backing worth about £1,500 in areas including IT training and internet advertising.

Thrifty opens Derby site
Thrifty Car and Van Rental has set up its first site in Derby. The vehicle rental business has based itself at industrial premises in Mansfield Road. Innes England was the agent on the deal.

Orange Tree Group to open club in Leicester
The Orange Tree Group has taken over The Basement site in Wellington Street, Leicester. Work has already begun transforming the 170-capacity night club, which is expected to open in late spring or early summer.

Jephsons fits out first Taco Bells
The first British Taco Bell cafés have been fitted out by Nottinghamshire-based Jephsons Shopfitters. Taco Bell, which serves Mexican fast food, has 5,600 restaurants in the US.

Greenzone moves base
Greenzone Facilities Management is to relocate after outgrowing its current offices, it has said. The Newark-based business secured financial support from the Royal Bank of Scotland to purchase new offices in Brunel Drive, Newark.
