Export hotspots revealed
Businesses in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire exported almost £11m in goods and services to Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia in December 2010, new figures reveal. However, the total value of exports fell to £26.6m from £58.5m in the previous month.

Revenues up at Norbert Dentressangle
Norbert Dentressangle has posted revenue growth of 4.4 per cent for the year to 31 December 2010. The French logistics giant, which has its UK headquarters in Nottingham, posted revenue of €2.84bn (£2.45bn).

Retail growth is slowing - CBI
The pace of growth in the retail sector is starting to slow, according to the CBI. The business lobbying organisation said sales on the high street generally rose in January compared to a year ago but 37 per cent of retailers polled in a survey said they were faring worse than in 2010.

Next furthers Yorkshire footprint
Leicester retail giant Next has agreed a lease for the 122,519 sq ft Aspect warehouse at West Moor Park in Doncaster. The property is adjacent to Next's existing 700,000 sq ft warehouse on West Moor Park.

Tower Tool is offering five new apprenticeship places. The Wigston business creates tools used to make parts for Airbus and Boeing aircraft.
