Zone location and tram extension revealed
The Prime Minister has used his visit to Nottingham to announce the location of the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire enterprise zone and reveal plans to provide funding to extend the city’s tram network. David Cameron, who was visiting the city alongside Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, said the government would provide funding to enable two more tram lines to be added to the network.

Derby hears London calling at investment event
Marketing Derby has said the city’s embassy event in London attracted more than 50 London retail agents and investors. The city presented investment opportunities at the Institute of Directors (IoD) on Pall Mall.

EAPC design completed
Marchini Curran Associates has completed the design of the new 'Elite Athletes Performance Centre' (EAPC) at Loughborough College. The Nottingham-based architect told Insider that the new centre will be used to house one of the visiting teams at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Midlands employers need to review their remuneration practices in light of forthcoming legislation, accountancy firm PwC is warning. New rules could outlaw some forms of avoiding or deferring income tax or National Insurance payments.

Status signs up seaside resort
A Derby-based company has won a two-year contract to promote the Lincolnshire seaside resort of Cleethorpes. Status Social Media Marketing said the contract win was significant, having only set up the business at the beginning of 2011.
