Food and Drink Forum considers post-Emda funding options
East Midlands business support organisation The Food and Drink Forum said that it is considering submitting a bid for the second round of funding from the government’s £1.4bn Regional Growth Fund (RGF) as it expects its funding to be “significantly reduced” after the demise of regional development agency Emda. Speaking to Insider, managing director Fiona Anderson said that it was vital that the government recognised the needs of start up and fledgling businesses within the industry once funding is axed.

An engineering firm based in Sutton-in-Ashfield has invested a six-figure sum on a new machine tool after receiving funding from Yorkshire Bank. Swiftool Precision Funding said the investment is a continuation of its £3m expansion plan.

A Nottingham hotel has been subject to a debt refinancing deal backed by Clydesdale Bank. The city’s Crowne Plaza was included in the deal arranged by parent company QMH.

One in four board members should be women - Davies
Lord Davies has called on FTSE 350 companies to boost the percentage of women at the board table to 25 per cent by 2015. Business secretary Vince Cable said he welcomed Davies' report which also calls on FTSE 350 companies to set their own targets for increasing female representation on their boards by 2015.
