East Mids RGF bids warned over 'scrooge' panel
Sir Ian Wrigglesworth, deputy chairman of the £1.4bn Regional Growth Fund (RGF), has told Insider that those expecting an easy cash windfall will be disappointed. Speaking ahead of tonight’s deadline for the first round of bids, Wrigglesworth warned the fund would not be an open pot of money. “A lot of people think we’re Father Christmas, but it will be more like Scrooge,” he said.

East Mids firms to partake in "eBay business loan" scheme
East Midlands businesses are being to get involved with a scheme which describes itself as “eBay for business loans”. Ten private investors have joined forces with a venture capital fund manager to create the Business Loan Network (BLN), through which businesses can borrow between £50,000 and £3m.

AIS secures tractor deal
Agricultural Industrial Services (AIS), the Derby-based subsidiary of Dunstall Holdings, has acquired Rea Valley Tractors (RVT), headquartered near Shrewsbury. The buyout of RVT was financed by the Birmingham corporate banking centre of the Co-operative Bank.

IML increases efficiency after Yorkshire Bank deal
Nottinghamshire-based IML Labels and Systems has invested £40,000 in a Vectra Turret rewinding machine after receiving backing from Yorkshire Bank's South Yorkshire Financial Solutions Centre. The company said it was eyeing further technological acquisitions to increase its efficiency.

PC4 Recycling signs ten-year Meadow Lane lease
A letting has been secured on two units at the Meadow Lane Industrial Estate in Alfreton. Joint agents on the scheme, FHP and Salloway, agreed a ten-year lease on units one and two of the scheme to computer recycling company PC4 Recycling.

Topping out ceremony at innovation centre
East Midlands Development Agency (Emda) and Prospect Leicestershire have marked a milestone in the construction of the Harborough Innovation and Business Centre with a ‘topping out’ ceremony. The £4.2m project aims to bring 180 jobs to Market Harborough.
