Jobs axe talks over £60m black hole
Nottingham councillors are to consider cutting 370 jobs next year at the authority tomorrow in a further blow to the city's economy. The option would save the city council £11m as it aims to plug a £60m hole in its finances. The authority said it had received 5,000 responses following a public consultation on the cuts.

HRVS takes on MAN
Derbyshire-based Heage Road Vehicle Services (HRVS) has expanded into South Yorkshire with the acquisition of the MAN Truck repairs and servicing business. HRVS, which also has depots in Newark and Leicester, said that it was eyeing further acquisitions over the next year.

£2.5bn Business Growth Fund to open
A £2.5bn business support fund is to start investing in businesses with an annual turnover of between £10m and £100m from April, it has been revealed. The Business Growth Fund, backed by the UK's six biggest banks, will aim to help small service and manufacturing businesses in its first year.
