Sales up as Dunelm welcomes new chief executive
Dunelm, the Leicester-based homewares retailer, is this morning reporting an increase of 8.5 per cent rise in sales for the six months to 31 January 2011. Revenue was up from £254.2m in 2010 to £275.7m this year, the company said. Dunelm revealed the results as it introduced its new chief executive and said it planned to open three new stores over the next year.

Property adviser Cooper Parry is seeking a buyer for The Pavilion, a 1.45-acre property in Burley on the Hill, Oakham. Tyrone Courtman and Alison Timperley from the Nottingham-based agent have been appointed joint receivers to the site.

Sales and profits up at Sports Direct
Clothing retailer Sports Direct revealed increases in both sales and gross profit through its latest interim management statement this morning. The Mansfield-based company said total sales were up 12.1 per cent for the 13 weeks to 23 January.

Nelsons grows with Trees
Property disputes and insolvency specialist Simon Trees has joined the Derby office of law firm Nelsons. Trees takes on the role of director and will work alongside Simon Waterfield to build up the firm’s property disputes resolution practice.

Inflation to remain high into next year - Bank
Inflation could rise to as high as 5 per cent and will remain over the government's 2 per cent target "over the next year or so". The warning has come from the Bank of England after the Consumer Price Index hit 4 per cent in January.
