Co-operate to push deals through, says Boxwell
East Midlands professionals are co-operating closer than ever before to push deals through – that’s the message from Fiona Boxwell, partner at the Smith Partnership in Derby. Speaking to Insider, Boxwell said: “There is far more co-operation between advisers working to get deals done at the moment. We’re all doing our best to push through the best deals for our clients.”

University to host low-carbon project
Loughborough University is set to host one of three science and engineering projects which will be financed by a £10m government investment. Students' Union £17m makeover revealed
The University of Leicester’s Students’ Union building, which has undergone a £17m redesign, is to be formally unveiled tomorrow. The project was designed by architect Shepheard Epstein Hunter and constructed by Morgan Sindall.

Lincoln Hilton design revealed
Designs of the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel in Lincoln have been unveiled by developer Brayford Hotels. The hotel, which is currently being built on Brayford Wharf North, includes 115 bedrooms and a ballroom.

Toyota cuts overtime at Burnaston
Toyota’s Burnaston plant has cut overtime in response to the mounting crisis following the earthquake and tsnuami in Japan last week. It was reported this morning that the motor manufacturer was axing the two hours a day of overtime for workers after fears that it may run out of parts.

Give struggling businesses a fighting chance, says R3
Business rescues are being held back unnecessarily by suppliers increasing tariffs, according to the Midlands chairman of insolvency body R3. Matthew Hammond, who is also a partner at PwC in the Midlands, believes that amendments to the current Insolvency Act could result in more than 2,000 businesses being rescued each year.
