Diminishing Grade A stock leads to property surge
A lack of top class office space in East Midlands cities is causing a surge in property deals, an industry expert has told Insider. Matthew Robertson, surveyor at property consultant King Sturge in Nottingham, has overseen a raft of major property deals recently, culminating in the sale of the 22,500 sq ft Huntingdon Court development this week.

Alumasc sells drinks division in MBO
Northampton-based Alumasc has sold its drinks dispensing division to management for £900,000. The building and engineering products company said the subsidiary was “no longer a core activity”.

Concentrix snapped up by TSG
IT software services company Concentrix has been acquired by Technology Services group (TGS). Loughborough-based Concentrix is the 24th purchase made by TGS since its inception.

Derby arena given go-ahead
Plans to build a 4,000-seat arena in Derby’s Pride Park have been given the green light by councillors. The building, which includes a velodrome, will put Derby on “the cultural and sporting map”, said Derby City Council cabinet members.

Subec expands with NatWest investment
A Hinckley-based distributor of paper disposable and hygiene products has relocated after securing funding from NatWest. Subec Wiping Solutions has moved into larger premises and opened a trade counter in Tungsten Park.

The leader of Bolsover District Council has been recruited to the board of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership. Eion Watts was appointed after his local authority joined the organisation.

Hsquare2 wins Red Bull team contract
Leicester-based event management company Hsquare2 has been awarded a contract to produce and stage manage the Red Bull F1 team building exhibit at a conference in Brighton. The contract win is the first for the company.
