'Programme bids' on agenda for second RGF round
Businesses and organisations will be encouraged to submit ‘programme bids’ to the second round of the £1.4bn Regional Growth Fund, the chief secretary to the Treasury has told Insider. Danny Alexander said that bids could take the form of a loan fund for small companies in the region as the minimum bidding threshold of £1m was often unsuitable. Alexander’s comments come as the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce revealed its disappointment with the region’s allocation of just one investment.

Tigers revive flotation plans
Leicester’s rugby union team are planning to list the club on AIM later this year. According to reports, the Leicester Tigers have also raised more than £4.4m to expand their stadium.

Leicester shopping centre in £60m deal
Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre in Leicester has undergone a refinancing deal worth £60m. The Tesco British Land Property Partnership (TBLPP), which owns the site, agreed the five-year facility with Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and Handelsbanken.
