Outer space sector strengthens NSC Creative

NSC Creative, based in Leicester’s space centre, increased its export sales by 50 per cent in 2010. The company’s business development manager Ruth Harvey told Insider that the sector was seeing an ever increasing demand overseas, and the company recently secured deals in Tel Aviv, Egypt and Hong Kong. Harvey also said that the space centre had experienced “a tourism boost” over the past year, in part attributable to the publicity the sector is currently receiving.

Healthy deal for Capita
The Capita Group, which has a base in Derby, has bought the health and government divisions of Tribal Group for £15.8m. Outsourcing specialist Capita said the deal would add “new capabilities” to its health and consulting businesses.

The Genting Casinos Group is to close its Leicester operation with the loss of 70 jobs. Genting, which is planning to close three of its sites in the UK, says staff at the Leicester casino will be given the chance to relocate to other sites.
