Gala leaves Tote chase
Bookmaker Gala Coral has bowed out of the race to buy the Tote. According to reports, the Nottingham-headquartered company failed to submit a formal bid to purchase the state-owned bookie chain by the 25 March deadline. Gala had previously been one of the favourites to snap up the Wigan-headquartered Tote.

Footwear retailer Dune Group has taken a 43,000 sq ft unit at Highcross’s Whittle Estate near Leicester. The Dune Group, which includes the Dune, Bertie and Chelsea Cobbler brands, said it will be using the premises for storage and dispatch for its e-commerce business.

K-Form signs Mexican deal
Woodford Halse-based business K-Form has landed a £60,000-a-month contract with a Mexican company that it says will help double its staff to 16 over the next year. The news comes as Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Mexican President Felipe Calderon have committed to double bilateral trade to £4.2bn by 2015.
