Chapco on acquisition trail after £5m investment
Lutterworth-based Chapco Group has announced the acquisition of 24Seven Group Holdings. Private equity-backed Chapco, a provider of facilities management (FM) projects, has bought the Livingston-based company two months after a £5m investment in Chapco by Next Wave Partners.

FedEx arrives in Nottingham
Global delivery service FedEx has taken a five-year lease on a unit in Queens Drive Industrial Estate near Nottingham. The deal was brokered by joint agents Lambert Smith Hampton and the Nottingham office of DTZ.

Larkpoint, which specialises in the development of healthcare and retirement living property, is currently searching for suitable development sites in Lincolnshire. The sites must be between one and three acres in size and have a good "main road profile".

Planning Institute president visits Corby
The president of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) has visited Corby to witness the progress being made with the regeneration of the town. Ann Skippers, along with James Carpenter, chairman of the East Midlands RTPI, saw several of the town’s development projects including the Corby Cube civic centre, which is nearing completion.

Leicestershire coffee maker Shelton Imports has won an order with London department store Harrods. The Kibworth-based retailer sells flavoured Columbian coffee cubes online and have recently branched out to sell its products in coffee shops and restaurants.

Sixty-one per cent of Midlands businesses are not getting paid on time. That’s according to the results of a survey commissioned by online debt recovery service positivecollections.co.uk. Its chief executive described the situation as "cause for concern".

Alkane extends energy supply contract
Alkane Energy, the profitable alternative energy company, has announced a 18-month extension to its tolling agreement with energy supply company, GDF SUEZ Energy UK. The contract should generate revenues of about £300,000 during the first year for Edwinstowe-based Alkane Energy.

A Dragons' Den success story is hoping to inspire businesses in the East Midlands at an event in Nottingham.
