Egg poached by Barclays
Barclays Bank has agreed to acquire Derby-based creditor Egg's UK credit card assets. Barclays will purchase Egg's 1.15 million UK credit card accounts, with approximately £2.3bn of gross receivables. The assets were bought from US-based lender Citigroup.

Pension deficit to be resolved at Uniq
Shareholders of chilled convenience food group Uniq have approved a proposed restructure that aims to resolve a £400m pension deficit. Under the agreement, most of the shares of Uniq – which has sites in Lincolnshire and Northampton - in the hands of the pension trustees.

Work starts on £30m college venture
Construction work has started on the £30m town centre campus for Dudley College. Leicester-based architectural and engineer practice Pick Everard and Birmingham contractor ISG have both begun work on site.

Gleeds secures Mumbai development role
Construction management consultancy Gleeds has been assigned to cost manage a mixed-use scheme in India. The Nottingham-based company is to manage the first phase of The Trees, a 2.8 million sq ft development in the centre of Mumbai.

Briggs wins £5m Travis Perkins contract
Briggs Equipment, based in Cannock, has won a £5m contract to supply almost 400 trucks to Northampton builders’ merchant Travis Perkins. The new flexible hire contract is the latest agreement between the pair.
