James Martin restaurant wins Michelin Guide place

The Leeds Kitchen by James Martin and The Bird by Vineet – based in the Alea on Clarence Dock – have been included in the 2013 Michelin Guide. It is the first time a UK casino has had its restaurants incorporated in the prestigious publication.
The Michelin Guide is one of the most respected food publications with The Michelin 'Red Guide' a key yardstick by which all UK restaurants are judged.
"To be recognised by industry professionals and included in the guide is an amazing achievement," said celebrity chef James Martin. "When I opened The Leeds Kitchen it was all about down to earth honest food with an efficient service.
"It's great to be part of a small group of restaurants based in my home county of Yorkshire that are in the guide. To get noticed after such a short space of time is testament to the hard work of a great team in The Leeds Kitchen.
"Getting into the Michelin guide is tough; staying there is even tougher, so for us the journey has just begun."
