Pace in TiVo tie-up

Share | |

Pace has entered into a global licensing agreement with home entertainment company TiVo.

TiVo's user interface software will now be ported to Pace's set-top boxes and gateways. The Saltaire company said the agreement would also enable operators around the world to deploy the TiVo functions on a range of Pace devices.

Pace said it intends to offer the TiVo product for both DVR (digital video recorder) and advanced gateway set-top boxes globally, with an initial product to be made available to cable operators in the Americas.

Pace has licensed TiVo's hardware porting kit and will work with TiVo to build a TiVo-verified platform.

This joint approach is aimed at offering service providers simplified operational integration and increased speed to market.

In January 2012, Pace revealed it had restructured its executive management team with the role of chief operating officer discontinued.
