P&L Systems acquires pest control business
Knaresborough-based P&L Systems has acquired SX Environmental Supplies from its founder Richard Lunn. The Leeds office of PKF advised P&L on the deal which was backed by Yorkshire Bank.
P&L Systems is a provider of brands to the facilities management sector and produces a range of environmental products.
The company has acquired three other businesses in the last four years - Dart Valley Systems, Network Bird and Insect-O-Cutor - and said it has increased sales from £9m to £25m in that time.
The company is targeting further growth as it continues with its expansion plans, including a forthcoming move to a new 35,000 sq ft facility in Knaresborough.
Founded in 1996, SX Environmental, operates in the pest control industry. The SX business will remain in its current facility in Essex and Richard Lunn and his staff will continue to manage the business going forward.
Peter Mangion, managing director of P&L Systems, said: "This is an important strategic acquisition for P&L Systems, one which broadens our offer to our increasingly wide pest control and facilities management customer base, across Europe."
Craig Martin, the corporate finance director at PKF who led the team that advised P&L, added: "Despite the current tough economic conditions, this deal is evidence that there are still businesses which are thriving and growing with the right business plan."
