Urban Outfitters takes central York store
US fashion retailer Urban Outfitters has agreed a deal with CBRE Global Investors to occupy a store in York city centre.
In a deal set up by property consultancy CBRE, Urban Outfitters has signed a 15-year lease for a 10,253 sq ft store on High Ousegate located in York's retail district.
Tim Starling, of CBRE Retail, said: "Urban Outfitters has had a long standing requirement for York and this iconic building fits the brand's image extremely well."
The location was formerly home to Habitat before the upmarket home furnishing retailer's collapse.
Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Philadelphia, Urban Outfitters sells men's and women's fashions as well as gifts and accessories from more than 130 stores in the US, Canada and Europe.
