Rail wins for NG Bailey

Share | |

NG Bailey's rail division has secured multimillion-pound contracts with Network Rail and London Underground.

The Ilkley-headquartered business is to provide mechanical and electrical (M&E) services to the Reading station redevelopment and work on the Victoria station upgrade for London Underground.

The company will be working in conjunction with Costain and Hochtief on the Reading station redevelopment, which incorporates the construction of five new platforms and a new transfer bridge.

The Victoria station upgrade project features a new additional ticket hall, nine escalators and seven lifts, which will make the station step-free.

Chris Raven, managing director of the rail division, said: "These contracts are a sign of the success that the Rail division is currently experiencing.

"NG Bailey has worked hard to position itself as a key player in the delivery of major rail infrastructure projects by consistently delivering quality to its customers. It is this reliability of service along with the expertise and reputation we have within the rail sector that has led to our recent success."

The Reading station redevelopment is due for completion in February 2014 and the Victoria station upgrade will be complete in 2018.
