Shredder buys rival

Share | |

Shred-it, the confidential waste destruction company, has taken over Cardiff-based South Wales Shredding. The new acquisition, which operates from Taffs Well near Cardiff, brings the number of Shred-it locations in Wales to two.

South Wales Shredding provides on and off site collection of waste across South Wales and south west England. Shred-it says South Wales Shredding's core service is very similar to its own.

The move follows the opening of Shred-it’s first branch in Wales in Bridgend in January. It says that over the last year, Shred-it’s customer base across the South Wales region has grown by more than 70 per cent.

Robert Guice, executive vice-president of Shred-it, said: “This key acquisition will allow us to enhance the services we can provide to our existing customers based in and around the capital.

"It will give us immediate and additional resource to expand beyond our location in Bridgend and take on more customers in South Wales."
