Aerospace company TB Davies (UK) will create 30 jobs following a £1m investment. The company is taking an extra 30,000 sq ft of space on Waterton Industrial Estate in Bridgend and consolidating operations from five separate sites.

The new posts at TB Davies, which designs and manufactures equipment for the civil and military aerospace industry, will raise its workforce to 100 staff within two years.

Construction work is due to complete in February 2011. The improvement has been supported by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Managing director Steve Meredith said attracting and creating more skilled employees is “the only way forward” for the company. He added: “As we develop more sophisticated products so we need to increase skills levels across the spectrum from the shopfloor through to management in order to support the business.”

He added that the company was looking for long-term growth after weathering a “difficult trading period”.
