Henderson takes stake in Versarien

Henderson Global Investors has acquired a 10 per cent stake in Gloucestershire-based Versarian.

The investment management group has acquired 8.6 million ordinary shares in the advanced engineering materials company from Elektron Technology.

This represents a total of 10.31 per cent of the issued share capital of the Cinderford-headquartered business.

Neill Ricketts, chief executive of Versarien, said: "Henderson Global Investors are one of the UK's best recognised fund managers and by acquiring a significant stake in Versarien it clearly demonstrates their commitment and shared vision in the potential of the company.

"We welcome them as a new investor and the board looks forward to working with them, as well as all our shareholders, in the future."

Versarien floated on AIM earlier this year raising £3m.
