The Devon and Cornwall construction business of the Midas Group has won more than £10m of new contracts.

Projects including an adventure training centre in Exeter; improvements to the Turner Ward at Torbay Hospital and an appointment to the Cornwall Council contractors framework were secured over the last two months.

Midas Construction also completed five schemes in both counties during December and January with a value of £4m.

These include the new Tavistock Police Station; the Newquay Skills Centre; the refurbished Davy Laboratory at Plymouth University, a Costa Coffee oulet in Exeter and the critical care unit at Treliske Hospital.

Midas Construction's director Mike O’Neill said: "We are very pleased with these new instructions which come on the back of an £8m contract to build student accommodation on behalf of University College Falmouth and the University of Exeter at Glasney Student Village at the Tremough Campus, Penryn.

"In the past six months we have also completed a wide range of educational projects, the Children's Hospice South West in St Austell, the refurbishment of Gyllingdune Gardens, Falmouth and a new catering facility at RNAS Culdrose."
