SACO to launch US operation
A Bristol-based serviced apartment company is preparing to open its first overseas office in the US.
SACO, which is located in Whiteladies Road, is to open an office in Connecticut in a bid to support clients travelling to the US.
The company provides access to apartments across the world and said the move across the Atlantic was "natural progression".
SACO USA will be run by John Murray, whose background includes owning and operating travel agencies and tour operations, and senior management within international hotel groups.
Lesley Freed, founder and chief executive of SACO, said: "After 14 years building a brand for serviced apartments in the UK, it makes sense for us to expand overseas.
"The USA is a natural starting point for both business and leisure travel, with more than four million night stays and nearly 700,000 visitors for business travel alone in 2010. With an office in the US we'll be able to directly market our apartments for our US clients coming to London or visiting anywhere in the UK."
SACO now operates and manages its own apartments in 30 locations across the UK and provides serviced accommodation through its worldwide network in more than 100 destinations around the world.
