ADG wins £3m hospital build deal
Plymouth-based Architects Design Group (ADG) has been appointed to devise a £3m extension to Truro's Duchy Hospital.
Through the deal, ADG's healthcare team will design a new operating theatre, cardiac catheterisation laboratory, recovery suite, day case unit, outpatient extension, conference room and dining space.
ADG was appointed following a tender process by Ramsay Health Care UK.
The Duchy Hospital is the only private hospital in Cornwall.
Phil Burgess, director at ADG, said: "ADG’s appointment by Ramsay builds on our public and private healthcare work across the UK and we’re delighted to be working on such a prestigious project.
"We are designing the scheme to minimise the impact on the daily running of the hospital, including some innovative construction methods."
ADG has previously worked on healthcare projects including the £8m Dental Education Facility at Tamar Science Park in Plymouth and a £1.5m primary healthcare centre for the North Somerset Primary Care Trust in Weston-super-Mare.
