Wiltshire-based Development Solutions is to build a 6,000 sq ft conception clinic in Bath.

The clinic will be operated by Bath Fertility Centre and will replace the soon-to-be demolished facilities at the Royal United Hospital.

The developer and the Bristol office of Colliers International have secured permission for the building after acquiring a site at Bath Business Park, near the new Circle Bath Hospital at Peasedown St John.

Engineering design has been undertaken by KB2 of Bristol and Cyril Sweett have been working to finalise the appointment of Halsall Construction.

Philip Harcourt of Development Solutions said: "This is a real boost for the medical provision in Bath and the wider region.

"The building has been designed by Studio Architects to be welcoming, discreet and comfortable, meeting the needs of patients visiting the facility while at the same time compliant with the latest stringent environmental and sustainability standards."

Construction is expected to start next year, with completion set for the summer.
