Hat-trick winner Norrie praises Power
Mike Norrie, who scored a hat-trick of wins at last night's Insider South East Dealmakers Awards, has hailed the performance of the company behind his Dealmaker and Deal of the Year accolades - the £18m sale of Power Efficiency to Balfour Beatty. Norrie said: "The guys at Power Efficiency are a fabulous bunch of guys and they really carried me through the deal."
Norrie, of Castle Corporate Finance picked up gongs for Dealmaker of the Year, Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year and Deal of the Year at the event held at the Copthorne Effingham Park Hotel, Gatwick. His main deal of 2011 - the sale of Power Efficiency to Balfour Beatty - stood out for praise.
Asked by host Gyles Brandreth about his win, Norrie said: "The guys at Power Efficiency are a fabulous bunch of guys and they really carried me through the deal.
"I love dealing with people in this room tonight, including clients like [former Power Efficiency owners] Bobby Collinson and Gary Harper."
A collection for The Alzheimer's Society was also held at the event in Gatwick.
Other winners included Grant Thornton, which was named Corporate Finance Advisory Team of the Year and DMH Stallard as Corporate Law Firm of the Year.
HSBC was named Bank of the Year while Asset-Based Lender of the Year went to Centric Commercial Finance.
The Private Equity House of the Year award was given to Matrix and BDO was named as Transaction Services Team of the Year.
Dan Bastide from Thomas Eggar and Mathew Glentworth from RBS were named Corporate Lawyer and Corporate Banker of the Year respectively.
Entrepreneur of the Year was Robert Stiff of Team 24 and Young Dealmaker of the Year went to Craig Hewitt-Dutton, PKF.
