Home, leisure and garden retailer The Range is to open a new superstore in Eastbourne on Friday, creating 150 jobs.
The 29,000 sq ft store, in an empty retail outlet, will take the total number of Range outlets to 48 across the UK. These include in the South East: Andover, Chatham, Clacton, Colchester, Enfield, Gosport, Harlow, Romford and Southampton.
The Range, which claims to be Britain’s fastest-growing retailer in its sectors, says it has more than 65,000 products across 16 departments including arts & crafts, soft furnishings, pet care, homewares, leisure and DIY.
Chris Dawson, owner and founder of The Range, said he had wanted to open a store in Eastbourne for years. “It’s fantastic to finally open a store here and create so many jobs at the same time.”
Eastbourne Borough Council said in a statement: “The creation of additional employment for our economy is fantastic news, especially in the current climate.”
