Revenue up and debt down at Manchester United
Manchester United have reduced their debts by more £60m and reported revenue of £175m for the second half of 2011.
The club said debt on the 31 December 2011 was £439m – down from £508m the same time last year.
Matchday revenue was up to £55.5m which the club said is down to the US tour in summer 2011 and more matchday hospitality sales.
Media revenue also increased to £60.9m from £53.7m in 2010 because of higher incomes from UEFA for Champions League games and the club was boosted having become Premier League champions.
A training kit deal with DHL and other sponsorship deals have also boosted commercial revenue to £58.6m, from £50.4m in 2010.
Staff costs at the club have increased to £76.5m for the second half of the year from £66.7m in 2010 because of new signings during the summer transfer window.
Manchester United are currently second in the Premier League behind local rivals Manchester City.
