Story starts £40m housing project
Carlisle-based Story Homes has started work on a £40m housing development in County Durham.
The company was appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency to build 240 homes on the 31-acre site in Consett.
Story Homes is to build a range of homes, from two-bedroom apartments to five-bedroom houses on the site.
Chief executive Fred Story said: "We have earned a proud reputation for building top-quality homes offering real value-for-money over the last quarter of a century throughout Cumbria, Lancashire and South West Scotland.

Story Homes' parent company Story Construction was founded in 1987 and has more than 400 staff.
