Nayler Group goes into administration
Family-owned printing business Nayler Group has gone into administration with the loss of 20 jobs.
The Accrington-based company had printing contracts for football programmes with Blackpool FC, Bury FC, Accrington Stanley FC and Morecambe FC. The decline in demand for printed products with the growth of the digital printing industry has led to the problems, according to the administrators.
Charles Macmillan, partner and head of corporate recovery at Beever and Struthers, has been appointed as administrator. He said: "I’m seeking a buyer and some interest has been generated.
"Unfortunately, there are relatively few players in the sector with the resources to acquire the entire business and the most likely outcome is therefore an auction of parts of the business."
Nayler was founded in 1928 and managing director Alastair Nayler is the fourth generation of the family to run the business. He said: "It has been a very difficult time for all involved, a very sad time."
