Creative England launches £400,000 funds
Creative England, which has an office in Manchester, has opened two new schemes of lottery funding totalling £400,000.
The Development Fund and Film Networks Fund, which are delegated from the British Film Institute (BFI), will aim to support the development of regional filmmakers, the organisation said.
Awards will range from £2,500 to £25,000 from the £250,000 Development Fund in its current round, with applications welcomed on a rolling basis.
The Film Networks Fund is a fixed call with £150,000 to award in this round. Awards will range from £2,500 to £25,000, with a 30 January 2012 deadline.
Chris Moll, Creative England head of talent development, said: "We plan to complement this with a new microbudget programme next year, and we are also continuing to work closely with the BFI to ensure the regions are central to future national talent development strategy."
The English regions-wide agency is responsible for distributing National Lottery funds for film since it was launched on 1 October.
