Merseyside ranked most profitable networking area
Merseyside has been rated the UK's most profitable business networking area, by business referral organisation BNI (Business Network International).
The organisation, which has 15,000 members in the UK, said Merseyside has experienced the largest increase in members creating new business opportunities for their fellow colleagues, through referrals which resulted in invoiced business.
The calculations have on an increase in money which members have thanked other members for as a result of word of mouth business referrals received. This totals £9.3m in the year to1 November 2011, up 282 per cent on the previous year.
Charlie Lawson, BNI’s national director, said: "We believe the marked increase in referral value passed between our members has been down to their abilities to build closer relationships with one another, hence making referring their colleagues an easier task.
"We know members of our Merseyside groups have invested a lot of time in training, as the skills of business networking can be easily learnt. The core principals of business networking teach us that if you like someone, it makes it that much easier to refer business to them, and our members have demonstrated this."
