Skelmersdale-headquartered Construction Partnership UK (CPUK) has won a contract to build a £2.6m care centre in Accrington. The 46-bedroom building for Springhill Care will provide specialist dementia care.

Work on the development, which also includes a number of green-energy initiatives, will start shortly and take 44 weeks to complete.

The latest contract win takes the value of health sector projects the company has been involved in this year to more than £8m. Other projects include phase two of a £3.5m dementia care centre in Southport for Altrincham-based care provider Melton Health Care.

Steve Burke, CPUK managing director, said: “This new contract in Accrington is one of a growing number that we have secured in the healthcare sector and follows our work building a pioneering centre for excellence for dementia care in Southport.”

He added: “There is no doubt that healthcare is becoming an increasingly important sector for us and our reputation in this area of work continues to grow.”
