Site Electrical fits for Eric Wright
Eric Wright Group, the Lancashire contractor and developer, has expanded its civil engineering division with the acquisition of Bury-based Site Electrical. The deal adds 88 staff and three offices to the Eric Wright Civil Engineering (EWCE) business.
The newly-acquired company is a specialist contractor to the water and waste-water industry. As well as its office in Radcliffe, the business has sites in Dumfries and Worcestershire.
Founder Tom Murphy, who set up the £7m-turnover Site Electrical 29 years ago, will remain with the business as a marketing consultant. The terms of the deal were undisclosed, although Site Electrical will continue to trade under its current name.
Murphy said: “EWCE has been a client of ours for more than ten years and it has become apparent that we share a similar vision to clients and staff alike. Following an initial approach and after much consideration I decided that it would be a positive move for Site Electrical to become an independent part of EWCE.
“It will enable us to accelerate our planned growth and expansion of our business that is already underway. My management team, staff and I see this as a very positive move and we look forward to the future.”
Site Electrical’s services range from project design, installation and commissioning through to ongoing pumping station maintenance and management. Clients include Scottish Water and Seven Trent.
