YFM backs second Fishawack deal
Medical communications agency Fishawack Communications, based in Knutsford, has made its second acquisition with backing from YFM. The company, which went through a £6m management buyout in 2008, has bought High Wycombe’s Alpha-Plus Medical Communications.
The deal follows Fishawack’s move into the US market with the deal to buy Philadelphia-based Nexus Communications in February. Oliver Dennis, principal founder of Fishawack Communications said: “This latest deal is step two of a buy-and-build plan that will see Fishawack become recognised as the leading independent medical communications specialist.”
INSIDER COMMENT
The theme of buy and build continues with Fishawack aiming to become a market leader in the field. Clients want the dedication and personal service that they receive from a small agency, but with the resources of a large agency, they say, with Fishawack giving them "the best of both worlds, maintaining the small agency approach but with the combined strength and stability of a much larger organisation". It's also a chance for an agency with funding backers to scoop up smaller players in a fragmented sector.
