Record year for Insider events
A record of almost 100 events, attended by 15,000 businessmen and women, were staged this year by Insider, the UK’s leading regional business publisher.
Insider, which meets the needs of the business audience in print, online and in person at a range of events designed to be informative and to encourage networking, launched a successful finance conference and dealmaker dinner in Belfast and manufacturing dinners in Yorkshire, the Midlands and Wales.
An innovative International Trade Awards dinner, pioneered in Manchester where Insider has its head office, proved so successful that it is to be rolled out to other regions.
Insider’s 93 events in 2011 ranged from breakfast briefings to round table discussions, full-scale conferences and a wide-range of business dinners catering for sectors ranging from digital pioneers to traditional manufacturers.
The events, which are held in every English region and now in Northern Ireland, attract blue chip sponsors from key business sectors, such as Santander, Barclays, RBS, Lloyds and Coutts from the banking sector, top accountancy and advisory firms PwC and Deliotte and the biggest regional law firm DLA Piper.
These demanding sponsors support Insider events because they can rely on the quality and number of business decision makers who attend year after year. Insider events were the first and remain the best in the regions.
Ms Marlen Roberts, managing director of Insider, said: “We have responded to the demand from business and increased the number and geographic spread of our events this year. More people than ever before have attended.
“Times are tough for every sector of business but that makes it all the more important for businessmen and women to be able to meet and hear what others in their sector are doing to overcome the difficulties. They have an unrivalled chance to listen to stimulating speakers and to network with those experiencing similar problems and exploring opportunities in their market.
“When cash is tight, business people spend it wisely – with people they can trust to deliver the relevance and the quality they expect. That is why they come to insider events, why we attract the top tier of sponsors and why we have seen our event business grow in spite of the flat economy.”
Insider has been meeting the needs of the business community for 20 years. The company publishes business magazines in the North West, Yorkshire, the Midlands, the South West and Wales. It also provides businessmen and women across England with a daily e-mail service.
