Industrial strength for Hortons
Hortons’ Estate, one of Birmingham’s oldest family owned property companies, has acquired an industrial complex in a deal worth £3.15m. It has bought the Alma Street site in Smethwick, made up of five units on 6.9 acres and totalling 160,000 sq ft. Situated 1.5 miles away from Birmingham city centre, the complex is let in its entirety to galvanizing services provider Joseph Ash Limited, a subsidiary of infrastructure and manufacturing group Hill and Smith PLC. The site has been purchased from the British Waterways Board. Tony Green, chief executive of Hortons, said: “Despite the economic gloom we are constantly on the look out to expand our existing portfolio.”
