Industrial strength for Hortons
Hortons’ Estate, one of Birmingham’s oldest family owned property
companies, has acquired an industrial complex in a deal worth £3.15m.
It has bought the Alma Street site in Smethwick, made up of five units
on 6.9 acres and totalling 160,000 sq ft. Situated 1.5 miles away from
Birmingham city centre, the complex is let in its entirety to
galvanizing services provider Joseph Ash Limited, a subsidiary of
infrastructure and manufacturing group Hill and Smith PLC. The site has
been purchased from the British Waterways Board. Tony Green, chief
executive of Hortons, said: “Despite the economic gloom we are
constantly on the look out to expand our existing portfolio.”
