Distressed businesses account for one in five deals, says R3
One in five of all mergers and acquisitions in the Midlands now involve businesses in distress, according to research by M&A data provider Corpfin and insolvency trade body R3. James Martin, R3 Midlands chair and a partner at the Birmingham office of Begbies Traynor, said: "Of the 114 transactions taking place in the region during the past three months, 24 of them involved companies acquired out of administration or other formal insolvency procedures."
