The work of a body set up to drive regeneration in some of the most deprived parts of east Birmingham and north Solihull, and which has helped to create more than 1,100 jobs in the last five years, has been celebrated. Set up in 2004 by Advantage West Midlands, the East Birmingham North Solihull Regeneration Zone has leveraged more than £50m of private sector investment into the area. At an event held at the Hippodrome theatre in Birmingham, more than 70 partners involved in the activities of the organisation celebrated some of its successes. Flagship projects have included the regeneration of Chelmsley Wood Shopping Centre and the Fazeley Studios development in Digbeth.
