The Magnificent Seven – Insider's team of expert East Midlands property judges – is assembling to put forward suggestions for the sector's big awards night.
The seven judges meet next week to collate their ideas on who should be nominated for each of the nine categories in this year's East Midlands Property Dinner. Their suggestions, along with those put forward by third parties and businesses entering themselves, will for the basis of the final judging session in July.
The judges - picked to ensure fair nominations from across industry specialisms and from across the region – are: Alex Reid of Mather Jamie; David Smith of Strata; Tim Garratt of Innes England; Sean Akins of Bildurn; Paul Quinn of West Northamptonshire Development Corporation; John Forkin of Marketing Derby and Jon Enever of Gleeds.
"This will be the 12th annual dinner, and each year it's significance to the East Midlands property sector has grown steadily," said Insider editor Kurt Jacobs. "This is the only night of the year when the main players from across the region gather to meet and compete. And although it's been a challenging year it already looks as if 2012 going to be a vintage one in terms of quality of entries.
"What makes the East Midlands Property Dinner awards really special is the care and thought we put into assembling our shortlists. Rather than passively waiting for entries to come in our judges, we actively seek out the very best the region has to offer to ensure what we present on the night is of only the highest standard."
The East Midlands Property Dinner is being held at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on Thursday 27 September.
There are nine categories for the dinner, with a June 30 deadline for entries:
• Commercial Developer of the Year
• Agent of the Year
• Design Excellence Award
• Regeneration Project of the Year
• Construction Project of the Year
• Sustainable Development of the Year
• Client Advisor of the Year
• Property Deal of the Year
• Residential Developer of the Year
In addition the judges will be giving a Special Achievement Award to an individual they believe has made an outstanding contribution to the region's property industry and contributed to its economic prosperity.
